How to Unfreeze Solana Token Accounts

Thaw frozen Solana token accounts with the freeze authority: wallet or account input, batch signing, and what holders see.

Dexmint Admin

You thaw token accounts when a lock has served its purpose: a vesting period ended, a dispute was resolved, or the wrong accounts were frozen by mistake. Thawing lifts the lock and leaves everything else untouched.

This tool runs the thaw for you. You connect the wallet that holds the freeze authority, pick the token, paste the accounts, and sign each batch in your own wallet. Holders sign nothing on their side.

What thawing does on-chain

Freezing on Solana applies per token account, not per wallet. A frozen account still holds its tokens but cannot send or receive them. Thawing issues a thaw instruction signed by the freeze authority, and the account returns to normal: the holder can transfer, trade, and receive again with balances unchanged.

Thawing does not remove your authority. You stay the freeze authority afterwards, so you can freeze the same account again later with the Freeze Accounts tool if you must. To remove the authority entirely, use the Revoke Freeze Authority tool instead.

The five steps in the form

First you connect the wallet that holds the token freeze authority. No other wallet can thaw these accounts, and Devnet with test SOL works for practice. Then you pick the token from your wallet or paste its mint address, and the tool reads it on-chain to show the supply, decimals, and whether the authority is still active and held by you.

Next you paste the accounts to thaw, one per line, and review the fee ledger, which shows the per-account total in SOL with any coupon applied before anything is signed. Roughly twenty accounts fit in one transaction, so a long list becomes a few signatures, and a progress tracker follows each batch with failed accounts retryable on their own.

By wallet or by token account

In By wallet mode you paste ordinary wallet addresses and the tool derives each wallet token account for the selected mint, so a Snapshot owner column drops straight in. In By token account mode you paste the account addresses themselves.

Accounts that do not belong to the selected token are rejected before you sign. If someone else froze your tokens, note the limit: only the wallet holding that token freeze authority can thaw them, so contact the project that froze them.

After you thaw

The moment your transaction confirms, each thawed account moves normally again. Your result links to an explorer, and you can cancel the remaining batches at any point if plans change. Whatever you leave frozen stays frozen until you thaw it.

Thaw before you revoke. If the freeze authority is revoked while accounts are still frozen, no wallet can thaw them later. Review the accounts you know are frozen first, and use a Snapshot export to list holder rows when the set is large.

Frequently asked questions

Who can unfreeze a token account?

Only the wallet holding the token freeze authority. Connect any other wallet and the tool blocks you before you can submit. If the authority was revoked, no one can thaw those accounts anymore.

Do holders need to do anything?

No. Holders do not sign anything. Their tokens simply become transferable again the moment your transaction confirms.

Is this the right tool to thaw accounts?

Yes, if your wallet holds the freeze authority and you want to lift existing locks while keeping the authority. If you want to lock accounts instead, use the Freeze Accounts tool.
