Pause ERC-20 Transfers on Robinhood Chain

Halt all transfers of a pausable ERC-20 token on Robinhood Chain: what stops, who can sign, and how trading resumes.

Dexmint Admin

You halt all transfers of a pausable ERC-20 token on Robinhood Chain. When a token is paused, no one can send, receive, or trade it until the owner resumes transfers. It is the standard emergency switch for a live token.

Pausing is a single, visible on-chain action signed by the owner wallet. Dexmint prepares the transaction and shows the fee up front in ETH; nothing happens until you approve it.

What pausing actually stops

A paused token blocks transfers, minting, and burning, including actions from the owner wallet. Existing balances remain in place, but token units cannot move until the owner unpauses the contract.

Use a pause for a specific incident, such as a suspected exploit or a required operational hold. Explain why transfers stopped and what must happen before they resume. Every pause and unpause is visible on-chain.

Pausing does not change the code

Pausing is a state change, not a code change. The contract itself is untouched, so the token can return to normal trading the moment you unpause it, and holders do not need to do anything on their side.

To resume transfers, use the Unpause tool. To give up the ability to pause forever, renounce ownership with the Make Immutable tool.

Who can pause, and what it costs

Only the wallet that owns the contract can pause it, and the tool verifies ownership on-chain before you continue. If ownership was renounced to make the token immutable, no one can pause it ever again, which is the trade-off of a fully decentralized token.

The fee ledger shows the flat fee in ETH. For tokens deployed with the latest template the fee is included in the pause transaction; older tokens show a separate fee step first. The pause event appears on-chain immediately, and transfers stay blocked until you unpause.

Frequently asked questions

What exactly stops when the token is paused?

Transfers, minting, and burning stop for every wallet. Existing balances and allowances stay recorded on-chain, but token units cannot move until the owner unpauses the contract.

Is pausing reversible?

Yes, as long as your wallet still owns the contract. Use the Unpause tool to resume transfers whenever you are ready. Holders do not need to do anything; trading simply works again.

Is this the right tool to stop trading?

Yes, if you want a reversible halt that you can lift with the Unpause tool. If you want to give up control permanently instead, renounce ownership with the Make Immutable tool.
