Solana Holder Snapshots Explained
What a holder snapshot records, how to read the table and CSV, and how the list feeds your airdrop.
Dexmint Admin
A snapshot creates a point-in-time list of wallets holding a Solana token or NFT. You choose a token from your wallet or paste a mint address, then review balances, share of supply, and the available holder rows before exporting them as CSV.
Snapshots are free and read-only. Nothing is written on-chain and there is nothing to sign. The tool reads public token-account data from Solana and organizes the results.
What a holder snapshot is
Token balances on Solana change constantly. A snapshot records who held the token and how much at the time of the request. You can use that dated list for airdrop planning, concentration analysis, or community records.
Each snapshot covers a single mint, so a collection spread across many mints needs one snapshot per mint. It does not have to be your own token. Any public mint on Solana works, since holder lists are public.
Reading the results
Holders arrive ranked by balance, with the total holder count and the top 10 share of supply: a quick check on how concentrated the token is. For very large tokens, the results may be truncated, and the interface shows when the table and CSV contain only part of the holder list.
Each CSV row starts with the owner wallet, followed by the balance in raw base units, the readable amount, and the share of supply for that holder. For a multisend, use the owner column and add the amounts you want to send. Do not use the raw balance as a send amount, because the Multisender expects display units.
From snapshot to airdrop
Taking the snapshot costs nothing: no transaction, no network fee, no signature. You connect a wallet only to pick a token from your own holdings, or you click Paste mint address and drop in any token or NFT mint. After you click Take snapshot, you review the holder table and click Download CSV to save the available rows.
Use the owner column from the CSV as the recipient list in the Multisender, then add the amount for each wallet. Sending creates on-chain transactions, and before you sign, the Multisender shows its per-recipient platform fee, estimated network fees, and any rent needed for recipient token accounts. Test the flow on Devnet with test tokens and test SOL.
Frequently asked questions
Does taking a snapshot cost anything?
No. Snapshots are free and read-only: no transaction, no network fee, nothing to sign. You only pay when you act on the list, like running an airdrop through the Multisender.
Can I snapshot a token I do not own?
Yes. Holder lists are public on Solana. Paste any token or NFT mint and you get the same ranked list and CSV, handy for checking concentration before you buy.
Is this the right tool to list my holders?
Yes, if you want a point-in-time holder list with a downloadable CSV. If you want to send tokens to those holders, use the Multisender with the owner column as your recipient list.
